Earlier this summer Magellan and Allied-GPS provided MSU's RS&GIS Lab MobileMapper CX units for a GPS Course.

This was the first GPS course at MSU to use a true MobileGIS platform. Although it was Bob Goodwin from RS&GIS's first ArcPad based class, he said that the course went well. This year the class was made up not only Geography students, but also students from Natural Resources, Wildlife Management, and Agricultural schools.

The CAPIGI (Conference on Agriculture Policy Implementation and Geo Information, European Union organization) conference was held in April’08 in Dublin, Ireland.

During this conference, a GNSS Workshop was organized with the goal to present GNSS solutions and demonstrate their performance in real conditions to key stakeholders from the EU countries (members of state and local governments and ministries, public agencies and organizations, service providers, etc).

Representatives from key GNSS manufacturers participated in this workshop, including Magellan , Trimble, and Topcon.

The results were fantastic for Magellan. They performed well with in the spec, in real time. In fact, Magellan was the only manufacturer to release all of their data. Several tests are missing result data from Trimble and Topcon.

Rumor has it that they didn't want to release the results. You can take from that what you want...
